Through Perry County Health System, a board-certified physician specializes in treating infectious diseases. Infectious diseases are also known as communicable diseases, contagious diseases or transmissible diseases. These conditions are caused by organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Some infectious diseases can be passed through physical contact, insects or animals, contaminated food or water, or other environmental factors.

Our infectious disease physician will evaluate and manage infections while providing quality care. A patient's illness can be determined through a variety of methods that may include detailed history information, focused physical examinations and an array of diagnostic tools.
