Perry County Memorial Hospital, and it's staff, strive to anticipate and
meet the healthcare needs of the residents of the City of Perryville, and Perry
County. A progressive Board of Trustees provides an environment for a
visionary management and staff to prepare for the appropriate provision of
healthcare to it's customers in the 21st Century. The professional,
customer oriented, caring atmosphere and staff constantly seek new ways to
accommodate those served. Wellness, education and prevention are just three of
the efforts in which Perry County Memorial Hospital joins forces with other
local providers, contributing to the positive, overall environment which fosters
growth, productivity and a true sense of community.
Although statistically considered small, with
licensure for 25 beds, the scope of services offered is anything but small.
Currently 24 specialty clinics are held on a regular basis. Emergency services
are provided by a hospital based ambulance service staffed with paramedics, a
staff of three full time Emergency Medicine Practitioners, and an ACLS Nursing
staff.
State of the Art technology is available in the
form of an Open-Type MRI, Spiral CAT Scan, Colorflow Ultrasound, and a Bone
Densitometer, to name a few. Teleradiology, is the most recent addition to the growing list of services
available at PCMH. Laboratory and radiology services are provided on a 24 hour
basis. Education of staff is an ongoing effort, keeping our professionals
current in their respective fields.
Perry County Memorial Hospital is a Joint
Commission Accredited, Medicare approved provider, licensed as well for skilled
care in the form of swingbed services. Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services
are available onsite, working in conjunction with inpatient, outpatient, and
case management areas. New projects are always in some stage of development.
The Obstetrical
Department has been renovated in the recent past with a new LDRP unit. Solid
referral relationships exist with tertiary facilities in Cape Girardeau and St.
Louis. Our strong Home Health Agency and Social Service Department with support
groups and counseling are crucial in maintaining the continuum of care for our
customers.
PCMH is fortunate to administer a
123 bed nursing home, with assisted living. We enjoy a cooperative
relationship with the extended care providers in the area, and
work together to identify areas of improvement in the services
provided in Perry County.
Two Medical Office Buildings are currently
located on the hospital campus. Staff physicians and clinics make full use of these facilities,
with radiology available in the Medical Office Buildings.
"We've never done that before" is not
heard here, unless followed by, "its worth a try". One of the great
strengths of our facility is its staff. A sense of family and true teamwork
enable us to give personalized care and attention to those we serve. It is often
difficult to specifically define individual efforts, as multidisciplinary
efforts are the norm, not the exception. The customer, patient comes first at
PCMH.
The acute facility has experienced a 100% growth
in Obstetrics over the last four years which creates an increase in Pediatric
Services. The building program featured a brand new twin suite LDRP Unit with an
additional four post-partum beds. A new Spiral CAT Scanner, new color-flow ATL ultrasound, MRI, Bone
Densitometer, and "pillow" lithotripter, constitute access to an
excellent selection of modern technological equipment found in few hospital's
our size.

County Memorial Hospital includes four Family Practitioners, all of whom are
